Contraindications
Any type of loco-regional anesthesia:
Toxic dose of local anesthetics already reached due to other techniques performed.
Infection at the puncture site.
Allergy to local anesthetics.
Contraindication to LONG-ACTING loco-regional anesthesia:
Presence of trauma at risk of developing compartment syndrome .
Indeed, a nerve block could then mask the initial symptoms of the compartment (severe pain, paresthesia, etc.) and delay the diagnosis secondarily.
